In order to get such a permit, a person needs to meet a number of conditions:
Continuous residence in Poland for 5 years
a residence in Poland is considered continuous if:
- one trip (one-time residence outside Poland) did not exceed 6 months
- total periods of residence abroad for 5 years did not exceed 10 months

Stable source of regular income (over the past 3 years)
- earnings after deducting living expenses must be higher than the amount of income, starting from which financial social assistance is assigned
- earnings can be confirmed by the contract of a person's employment, for example: an employment contract ("umowa o pracę"), an assignment contract ("umowa zlecenie")
